Summerby is one of Colefax & Fowler’s most iconic prints. Originally conceived as an embroidery, this classic was ultimately produced in a range of colorways and materials. From a collector, this pristine example in cotton/linen weave has an airy quality, featuring scattered hydrangea loosely climbing on a butter cream ground, enhancing the frothy style of the lace cap blossoms in shades of powder, rose pink and white. On the flip side is a lovely trellis that the hydrangea might be climbing, embroidered in a light beige on a soft cream ground. The perfect trim is a stunning delicate Brunschwig fan loop fringe.
