This absolutely charming floral chintz will make the perfect punctuation for your decor. Radclyffe Stripe is a gorgeously detailed print from Jean Monro, awarded the OBE for her cannon of English style.
Renowned for her timeless motifs, Jean Monro was a leading exponent of the classic English Country House style but with a uniquely fresh, charming, and unfussy viewpoint. She reproduced designs dating back to the 1920’s that her mother, a famous decorator in her own right, used and loved to create a very livable, comfortable look. Radclyffe Stripe was inspired by a design for a woodblock by Thomas Clarkson dated 1863 for which the original art-work still exists.
A pale blue ribbon meanders through the stems of blush, rose and garnet Dianthus, while between lies a charming centered secondary ribbon, caught with sprigs of Maiden’s Hair Ferns. We've paired this pretty textile in the traditional manner with a check in pale blue and cream on silky taffeta on the back. A very special pleated grosgrain ribbon also in pale blue outlines the design.
