Renowned for her timeless motifs and revered as one of the best British designers (she was awarded the OBE), Jean Monro was a leading exponent of the classic English Country House style but with a uniquely fresh, charming, and unfussy viewpoint. She reproduced designs dating back to the 1920’s that her mother, a famous decorator in her own right, used and loved to create a very livable, comfortable look. Wildflower Stripe was inspired by an Edwardian watercolor print dated 1905. The lovely fresh spring flower fabric illustrates a spray of green-tinged white daffodils, lilacs, violets, snowdrops, and blue-green foliage against a wide picot-edged lacy ribbon in palest taupe on a cream ground. The other side is a clean off-white blend of textured linen and cotton. The trim is a knockout, highlighting the palette of the florals with petite threaded French knots in shades of cream, taupe and blue.
